Mille Fiori Narrative Necklaces.
Mille Fiori is Italian for a thousand flowers.
In the Venetian glass tradition, the artist would work to include as many tiny glass flowers as they could on to or in to a bead. The glass-blowers used many techniques, some like rolled rock candy, with thin slices cut from the patterned stick.
These Mille Fiori beads are hand strung in different colour combinations- Blue and White, Red and White, Blue and Red, Red and Green. The Mille Fiori beads are interspersed with crystal cut glass and small coloured glass, in the colours of the chosen feature beads. These beads are made in Italy and Australia. Some strings include a bead to ward off the Evil Eye, made in Turkey. Some strings include a resin hollow bead, with tiny glass beads strung inside it. Some strings include coral and semiprecious stone beads.
Each necklace is between 30 and 40 centimetres, that is 12 and 16 inches, and sit between the throat and the decolletage or bust line.
